The real opportunity in AI comes from building your own applications
GetInference AI Nuggets Jan 31
Hello AI pioneers! Welcome to our ninth edition. With the pace of AI innovation and the army of entrepreneurs riding the wave, it feels like the world is feeding us golden tickets hidden in Wonka chocolate posts every minute and I feel like a Chewbaca who needs a holiday.
So let's cut straight to the chase.
👉I've been busy playing with the new Pix2Pix instruction model in Stable Diffusion. With this model, you can now write your image prompt in natural language and get fantastic results. Yesterday I realized that I could merge this with the Depth 2 image model to create a custom model that not only understands depth but can be manipulated with natural language! Not bad, is it? (Link)
👉Why am I talking about this? Because this activity and other tutorials, will be part of the GetInference Academy that I am launching in a few weeks! The academy will offer courses, challenges with or without support, webinars, chat. You see, whether you are a marketer or a product manager, the real opportunity in AI comes from building your own applications for your own domain. And that's what I aim to show in the academy.
The challenges (or tutorials, as they're usually called) will be presented weekly so we can all follow along and, if you sign up for the support package, you will have the opportunity to be mentored by me during your challenges and beyond.
👉In the meantime, if you want a hint in terms of the courses on offer, I'd like to remind you that I'm hosting a webinar on Friday 03 February, from 15:00 to 17:30 (GMT): "Don't let ChatGPT have all the fun: How to unleash the full potential of AI and take ALL your marketing to new heights!"
With this first webinar, my goal is to show you how you can immediately use out-of-the-box tools to supercharge your marketing : From idea generation to churn management, we'll cover the entire marketing funnel, with a pinch of humour for good measure and a clear business focus, register here, places are limited: https://webinar.getinference.com/
SPOTLIGHT
Last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, you couldn't get far in any discussion without the topic of artificial intelligence and ChatGPT, in particular, coming up.
"I've never seen so much excitement about anything in my life," Omar bin Sultan al-Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Telework Applications, told Insider.
Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda described ChatGPT as a mind-blowing "game changer".
Shelley Stewart, a senior partner at McKinsey, said there would be a much greater need for career transition and retraining as some jobs change or are eliminated by the advent of AI.
"With every technology, there is good and bad," Rima Qureshi, Verizon's chief strategy officer, told Insider. "I firmly believe that in the long run, the good outweighs the bad, but we need to be aware that every technology has pitfalls."
A few predictions have been made for 2023
- Poor- and low-quality content will flood the internet.
- Readers will demand high quality content.
- Search engines will adapt their algorithms to de-prioritise low quality content.
- The focus on search and value additions will drive on-page SEO.
Overall, as we have already pointed out, the problem is trust, as this CNET plagiarism incident shows... The articles written by CNET's AI are not only riddled with errors. They also appear to be heavily plagiarised (Link).
As far as copyright is concerned, you will always have a hard time protecting AI's artistic creations with copyright and the legal proceedings are now there to prove it, as you can read in this letter from the US Copyright Office (Link).
A few newsletters ago, we discussed how the future of AI would be action-oriented and speculated about a future where Wolfram would work with ChatGPT. Well, someone has done it of course (Link) . In this prototype, you can chat with your AI avatar and prompt it to act, such as searching for information on the internet... Last spotlight of the week: I was an early adopter of Nichesss (which is now becoming a commodity with ChatGPT) but recently they released a cool feature that allows you to import any widget into your website. I added a course generation widget to the Getinference.com homepage. How it works: You suggest a course name and a keyword (e.g. how to learn LangChain for a marketing application) and the widget generates a course summary. Just copy and paste it into the field below, send it to me and I'll work on creating the course for you! Talk about hyper-customisation 🤯

How to use ChatGPT as a product manager
👉This is a fantastic thread (Link). in this article our hero is a product manager working for LinkedIn, specifically, he is the lead, responsible for the user’s home feed content and is struggling to come with new ideas and derive the user stories, job to be done and acceptance criteria. Well with no spoiler, you can guess how the story end with ChatGPT.
👉I tried the methodology to write user stories for a chatbot application like Replika during the weekend and the results were amazing. I am already talking with a developer agency to implement this. the quality of the brief determines the quality of the outcome, isn’t it?
7 ways ChatGPT can level up your marketing (full article)
TLDR
👉Research and Inspiration
To better inform and shape your content marketing efforts, ask ChatGPT questions to generate idea lists based on its vast knowledge and ability to quickly compile lists on just about any topic. From there ask ChatGPT to organize the data by subtopic or expand or simplify the list to your liking.
👉Content creation
The most common content assets created via ChatGPT today include articles, FAQs, ad copy, product or service descriptions, social media posts, translations, and summaries.
👉Website optimization
ChatGPT can be used to create keyword-related assets including title and meta description tags, creating link development lists, reducing duplicate content and creating A/B testing variations of landing page text or even ad copy.
👉Data analysis and reporting
ChatGPT can be used to analyze and summarize data. This includes composing regular expressions or spreadsheet formulas, setting up custom pixel conversions, generating RegEx tags to filter Search Console Performance Report, fetching data and sentiment analysis.
👉Content personalization
One of the more advanced capabilities of ChatGPT is personalization. The engine is so efficient and effective, that it can rapidly create customized copy for websites, emails or digital ads.
👉Process automation
The bigger picture for ChatGPT and similar AI chatbot platforms is the ability to streamline marketing programs via automation. The low value, repetitive, relatively simple tasks can be outsourced to ChatGPT.
Other areas of opportunity include more advanced tasks like generating reports or analyzing data.
👉Customer service enhancement
If you haven’t already integrated chat into your website, social and email channels, now is the time. It’s affordable, robust and provides critical cost-savings and scalability to your marketing, sales and customer service efforts.
