Fasten your marketing seatbelts, everyone! Last week was yet another AI extravaganza, wasn't it? OpenAI has shaken the foundations of the internet and SEO as we know it with the release of Plugins, their groundbreaking "Apple App Store" moment. Imagine ChatGPT with plugins as your text-based operating system (OS) for all textual interactions, akin to macOS for Apple or Windows for Microsoft. This innovation is challenging the likes of Google Play Store and Apple App Store with an all-encompassing AI ecosystem. In a nutshell, AI is feasting on software and human-made UIs.
The beauty of ChatGPT plugins lies in their sheer simplicity. No coding expertise is required; simply use human language descriptions to outline the API. The AI model will autonomously handle authentication, API calls, data processing, and formatting for display. In fact, you might be able to build a plugin using GPT-4. The future of APIs? There's no need for them.
ChatGPT plugins are not only toppling budding generative AI startups but also dismantling the moats of industry giants. For instance, OpenAI doesn't need to buy Zapier; they'll outdo them in a heartbeat.
As for making a profit from Generative AI, the landscape is gradually becoming clearer:
1-Infrastructure companies like NVIDIA and Google
2-Model companies like OpenAI, AI21 Labs, and Midjourney
3-Major corporations integrating Generative AI into their products, such as Microsoft, Google, and Adobe
4-Vector store companies like Pinecone and Milvus
5-The plugin store ecosystem: Most people still don't know how to capitalize on GPT-4, even when it's integrated into popular apps. OpenAI will require prompt engineers, developers, consultants, private model deployers, and enterprise enablers to build practical applications.
Now, in this new era of prompt-based human-machine interaction, buttons and swiping are obsolete. Just talk or chat.
So, how do you claim the top spot, akin to Google SERP, in this brave new world?
Hint... GPT is capable of parsing JSON-LD, a lightweight data interchange format often used for structured data markup on web pages. This feature enables machine learning algorithms to understand the context and meaning of the text. While it's not clear exactly how often GPT may be parsing JSON-LD on the web, it's likely that the percentage of pages that use JSON-LD is increasing as more webmasters recognize the benefits of structured data markup for SEO and other purposes.
These structured data islands serve as anchor points for machine learning algorithms, enabling them to understand the context and meaning of the text. But here's the exciting part β you can reverse this relationship and use those islands to connect GPT's embeddings BACK to your own internal data!
